What Do CVICU Travel Nurses Do?
CVICU travel nurses specialize in caring for patients with critical cardiothoracic conditions. Their expertise ranges from managing patients with advanced heart failure to those awaiting heart transplants. This role demands advanced skills to handle interventions like ventilator care, administration of critical medications, and tackling emergencies such as cardiac arrest.
Working with Ambition 24hours, our CVICU travel nurses enjoy optimal patient ratios - typically 1:2 or 1:1. Basic requirements include BLS and ACLS certifications, plus a minimum of 12 months full-time nursing experience. Some institutions may also seek the NIHSS certification.
